Prof. Dr. Saleh Abu Osba, the President of Al-Istiqlal University, received Brig. Gen. Amal Khalifa, the President of the Palestinian Military Sports Federation, and the delegation accompanied her, in the presence of Prof. Dr. Mohammed Al-Sobou, the deputy for Academic Affairs, his deputies for academic affairs, Prof. Mohammed Al-Sebaa, Dr. Rajaa Sweidan, the deputy for Administrative and Financial Affairs, Brig. Gen. Salman Tayseer Abdallah, the deputy for Military Affairs, military, and Mr. Safwan Al-Bado, the coach of the Tunisian National Swimming Team, on Tuesday 8th of June 2021, in the Campus of the University.
At the beginning of the meeting, Dr. Abu Osba welcomed Brig. Gen. Khalifa, expressing his happiness with this visit, and the University's readiness to enhance possible ways of cooperation with the Federation. Also, he stressed the necessity of strengthening the curricular and extracurricular activities for the students in general and sports sciences in particular, thanking her Excellency's efforts in following up the swimming pool project at the University, and addressing the possibility of completing it.
For her part, Brig. Gen. Khalifa praised the efforts of Al-Istiqlal University, expressing her pride in Al-Istiqlal University as an institution that has a great and important impact on the Palestinian security level. Also, she stressed the union's readiness to meet any plans or proposals that would refine the students' sports skills of all kinds.
Furthermore, the Academic and Military deputies pointed out the University's keenness to develop its students in the field of sports at both the theoretical and practical levels, and its interest in holding specialized courses for students of the Military Sports Training Diploma, and providing them with the necessary knowledge needed in this field.
At the end of the visit, the presidency of the University and the visitors exchanged the shields of appreciation, besides a tour was conducted by the public relations department of Al-Istiqlal University to see the project and evaluate the administrative, financial, and technical aspects related to it.
